With the landscape of The Island House behind them, this couple made use of a stellar color scheme and gorgeous views. When unique palettes come together, we have to take a moment to swoon. And thanks to Virgil Bunao for snapping such breathtaking shots!
For Becca and Russ, it was very important that their day reflected them … their travels and passions. Becca was a savvy DIY-er who hand painted her favorite scriptures on signs throughout this Sewee Preserve locale. And for their tiniest guests, they had a coloring area complete with blankets and crayons so that their night was as fun as the rest of the attendees.
This adorable couple relished in their wedding day, but their thoughtfulness came out in every aspect … right down to the African coffee they provided their guests as favors — a place as they said was “near and dear to their hearts.”
When Jacob and Laura tied the knot on May 27, 2012 at the Legare Waring House, rain was in the forecast.
But not a drop came down as this fun-loving Charlotte, North Carolina-based couple prepared to walk down a quintessentially Charleston aisle famously known as The Avenue of Oaks.
Under a twinkling-lit white tent this couple danced the night away with friends and family who braved the phantom rain to celebrate with them on such an extraordinary day.
A few behind the scenes shots from our photo shoot by Sarah Poe featuring the flower dress by Rachel Gordon (flowered by Ooh! Events!) The photos will appear in the Eco Bridal Book. The dress was featured as Rachel Gordon’s finale dress in the runway show for her inaugural bridal bridal line at Charleston Fashion Week. But, the true star was our flower girl, Kennedy Anne!
We had an amazing time being part of the team to help set the scene for the Eco Bridal collaborative photo shoot. So many talents came together to produce some amazing results! We can’t wait to see the film by Pistil Films, photos by Sarah Poe and book. More info to come soon…
This St. Patrick’s Day was one of the best and I am sure ole’ St. Patrick himself would agree.
The first PERFECT Saturday of Spring coupled with this festive remembrance brought revelers out in full force.
Ooh! Events was thrilled to be a part of one of Charleston’s most treasured St. Patrick’s Day traditions. Every year following the parade downtown, the lassies gather at the Mills House and the lads at Hibernian Hall for merriment dressed in green. As the evening wears on – all rally at the Mills House for a late night rendezvous!
St. Patrick must have been looking down on all of us (the Irish and the Irish at heart) to bless us with such a fabulous start to Spring. I even thought I saw a leprechaun – or maybe it was the green beer!
Despite gale force winds, Ooh! Events prepped for the pitmasters Sunday at the Charleston Maritime Museum. The Festival Finale celebrated three of our favorite things: B-B-Q, Blues & Brew. The event was presented by Certified SC Grown and Everyday with Rachael Ray Magazine.
The Sweet & Lowdown theme for the event was steeped in Americana and of course, Lowcountry charm. Casual, no fuss, no muss – B-B-Q just as it is against a bright blue sky and a festive backdrop. Collections of vintage Coca-Cola bottles and fruit crates held bright blooms and earthy ferns on warm well worn farm tables. Weathered corrugated tin bars and shanties offered shelter, Jim Beam and Moonpies to the spirited attendees. Bluegrass filled the air and a good time was had by all!
Thanks BB&T Charleston Food & Wine Festival – looking forward to next year!
We know you’ve been patiently waiting, so we won’t waste any time with the details just yet…
Now, a little bit about the shoot. All photos were taken at Sewee Preserve, a brand new venue to the Charleston event community!
Not only was it the first time the venue has been photographed, but it was also Sweet Pea’s photographic debut – isn’t she purty?! I mean how adorable is that dinner for two in her truck bed??
Our wonderful photographer, Virgil Bunao, did a fabulous job (as usual) capturing all the details of our most complicated shoot to date. Two ceremony sites, two tents, two lounge areas, one dinner scene, portraits, and more, suffice to say that this shoot could not have happened without the help of many fantastic people!
Special thanks to:
Caroline Baker of Maude Couture, Tim Woodland and team of Sperry Tents Southeast, Amy from the Village Bakery, plus our models Gray Benko, Suzanne Hogg, Anne Marie Murtagh, and Alejandro!
