Wire Art

Well, this is an ode to my son Zachary who can practically whip up anything he wants to with a floral wire.  He’s gifted, but ever the practical thinker, I’m always wondering- what can he do with that?  I love that www.foldhere.bigcartel.com has turned her wire folding talent into these beautiful cards.cake

Lace Floor

ooooooooooo

ooooooooooo

I cannot wait to do this- it’s a lace stencil floor.  The cat even loves it, and cats are notorious for really not caring about anything.  I found this courtesy of www.sfgirlbybay.com.  I believe the stencil is carried by www.designformankind.com.  They provide directions on how to do it and this certainly looks like a doable do-it-yourselfer.

LOVE this…….giving me lots of inspiration on what to do with all these boxes of photos.  This is from designspunk@blogspot.com who states she is not a fan of Olan Mills, either.  The papered background is pages from her grandmother’s old thesaurus, another touch I love.

vintage paper

vintage paper

I’m a huge fan of collage and even bigger fan of vintage.  I love that littlebrownsparrow at Etsy combines both and I’m digging on how she’s combined the shredded paper with geometrics.  You can check out this piece here.

Floral Lamp Thing

glow

glow

I’ve tried to describe this without being able to show the picture and it goes like this:  “Well, it’s a cylinder loaded up with orchids or greenery immersed in water, then there are floating candles at the top of it and we top it all off with an antique mirrored lamp shade.  So, the lampshade catches the internal glowing from the floating candle and refracts the light back through the water in the cylinder and above.  It glows!”

See….that is a lot of information, too much maybe?  Just look at the picture- these glow lamp floral mirror shade piece-a-ma-jiggers are COOL!   www.shopoutofhand.com.

Rocks that ROCK

peeking in the garden

peeking in the garden

The possibilities of rocks……i love these sweet little illustrations on smooth stones.  A while back, I used stones as placemarkers at an organicish morrocanny event.  We made fuscia paisley transfer decals and put them on the rocks which were placed atop the fuscia napkins.  I’ll post when I dig up that old picture.  Thanks to www.mayamade.blogspot.com for her inspiration!

See a penny, pick it up……

And besides having good luck, maybe you’ll eventually have enough to create a work of art?  How amazing and beautiful is this?  And the quote “Obsessions make my life worse and my work better”……

This is artist Stefan Sagmeister and I found him courtesy of my favorite David Stark.
