Just In-Ryu fall favorites

Posted on: October 27th, 2010 by Lisa

We’ve been lamenting about the delay in fall weather for a while now, but seriously?!?

Seeing all of these exciting new fall/winter clothes walk through our doors doesn’t help either. Maybe we should just crank up the AC and make our own autumn sanctuary inside the shop…

Yesterday, we unpacked a huge box of goodies from Ryu, including the ivory pleated off the shoulder blouse shown above. Pair it with tailored charcoal wool pants and polished accessories for an easy and comfortable outfit for the office or running errands. This Hobo handbag is a classic that’s sure to last you many years – we’re obsessed with the tortoise resin chain – and it comes in 2 smaller versions, a mini handbag and clutch in slate grey, both equipped with that cool chain link handle.

For the more bohemian crowd, we have a fantastic vintage-inspired crochet and tulle dress paired with a faux leather shearling jacket.

The wool scarf (detail shown in the middle below), by Vismaya, is the perfect blend of colorful fall hues, a whimsical paisley pattern, and coziness. Match this look with an old-world feeling necklace like the one below, a shaker necklace filled with mixed emeralds.

And, if that isn’t enough for you…top off your neo-hippie look with a great pair of worn-in brown boots. Hint, hint – you might be seeing the pair shown below at Out of Hand very soon…

say it with a scarf

Like you, we’re wishing that fall would just stay here for more than a day. That doesn’t mean though that we can’t start looking for our favorites and go-to’s for the season.

In the sea of neutrals and grays we’ve found some pops of color in the form of bold accessories to brighten up your outfits. The Echo scarves shown are priced at $38 (right) and $48 (left) – not bad for season staple. Not to mention, they are soft and comfy too!

We like to mix and match, so pair a bolder pattern with a more conservative outfit like a classic navy plaid strapless dress and a cropped leather jacket ( a steal at only $182!!). Likewise, wear  a classic outdoorsy plaid scarf with an oversized chunky knit sweater and funky dress to top off a look that would be as great for a brisk walk in the woods as for a casual lunch with friends.

As always, stop in to explore our revolving selection of handbags and jewelry!

longing for fall

Posted on: September 24th, 2010 by Lisa

It’s good to be back home but we are sure looking forward to some cooler weather! Even NYC was hot the past few days…

While we didn’t get any respite from the heat, we did find some fantastic spring clothes at the buying show. And, we are also happy to say, that color will be back! Crazy to think that we haven’t even gotten to the holidays and we’re already dreaming about the yummy kelly green sundresses and flirty pink tops we have on order…

But, we did fortunately return to find a few pops of fall reds and browns along side feminine details in some newly arrived items. And, we’d love to share a few of them with you below…

Camel coats are a must have for fall – and this rosette decorated wool coat from Ryu is a great find. Pair it with a classic A-line cut heather grey dress from Burlapp and you’re set for the perfect day to night autumnal outfit.

We clearly love Ryu because the next outfit – silver faux leather detailed jacket and beaded cream chiffon dress – is made of two amazing pieces by these fabulous designers out of California. Both pieces are modern yet easy to wear and can surely get some wear into the holiday season.

Lastly, we are seriously digging the pop of color in this Lia Molly sweater (she used to be the sweater designer for Anthropologie) and Burlapp tiered skirt. And, look closely, the sweater front pocket is styled with a kiss-lock closure reminiscent of an old-fashioned change purse – love at first sight.

Marshmellow Favors

Yummy and cute!  I can see this for an autumn (do we have one in charleston?) or a winter bride that has a hot cocoa station.  I love the logo…..fantastic idea for branding not just a wedding but a corporate function.

yum!
